Η UnityPath was founded in 2025 in Ptolemaida, στη Western Macedoniaat a time when the region was facing significant social, economic, and environmental challenges. Its founders, active citizens and members of the local community, felt the need to create a space that could support and empower local communities through cooperation, education, and sustainable development.
UnityPath was born out of the belief that change starts with people and that active participation in the community can transform local societies. The aim was to fill a gap that existed in the region: the lack of organised initiatives that combine local development, social cohesion and the promotion of sustainable practices with a long-term perspective.
From the outset, UnityPath focused on creating opportunities for all residents of the region —young people, professionals, entrepreneurs, and communities—to actively participate in shaping a shared future. The choice of Ptolemaida as its headquarters was not accidental: the city and the wider region of Western Macedonia have significant human capital potential, but need support to realize their potential.
The establishment of UnityPath marks the beginning of an organization that aims to act as a catalyst for change, promoting innovation, education, green and digital development, and strengthening citizen participation. Despite its short lifespan, the organization has a clear direction: to become a point of reference for every citizen and organization that wants to contribute to a more sustainable, fair, and resilient Western Macedonia.
